Flickr: A fantastic photo hosting site. Look for Creative Commons pictures under Advanced Search to find images to use with your students.
Creative Image Commons Search: A easy way to find Creative Commons Licensed pictures all in one location.
Public Domain Images Several thousand copyright friendly images nicely organized in categories, free for any personal and/or commercial use, credit or back link is not required.
Joongel: Choose images and search multiple sites at once.
Repository of Primary Sources: A site that links users to sites throughout the world which contain primary sources.
New York Public Library Digital Collection: Images, audio, video and printed text hosted at the New York Public Library and available online.
Copyright Friendly Resources Wiki: A collection of websites were users can find images and audio for use in media projects, blogs, and wikis.
GlogsterEdu: A site where students can create digital "scrapbook" pages.

ESL Pod: English as a second language podcast.
Grammar Girl: A podcast for understanding English grammar.
Audacity: An easy to use and free to download audio software for recording podcasts or other audio projects.
Jott: A site where users can create audio recordings using a telephone.
Blabberize: Upload a photo and make it talk.

DotSUB: Watch a video and read captions in another language. Dual language students can add captions in their primary language for others to use.
TeacherTube: YouTube with educational content.
VoiceThread: Easily create your own "movies" by adding still images and audio captions.
Jing: Create screen casts for your students.

Wordpress.com: An easy to use, open source blogging platform that is hosted for you for free.
Edublogs: An educational version of Wordpress.com
WordpressMU: Software which can be installed on school or district server for free allowing all students to have independent blogs.
Support Blogging List of Blogs: A list of educational blogs. Check out the classroom and teacher lists for ideas.

Wikispaces: A very simple wiki site. The basic version is free, but check out the For Teachers page for upgrades without additional cost. Students can have accounts without having email addresses.
PB Wiki: Another free wiki site.
Wetpaint: A third free wiki site.
Wikis in Plain English by Common Craft: Incase you know someone who doesn't know what a wiki is.

Google Definitions: In the Google search box type define, colon, and then your vocabulary word (ex: "define:literacy"). Definitions will pop up from multiple sites.
Visuwords: A graphic interface for how words relate.
